I am Ron Weatherford and I'm running for the NC State Legislature. Last fall I had the opportunity to drive around the United States. I talked to all kinds of people. Everyone had a story. As I listened to the many stories I noticed, a common thread. People wanted a change.
I know in my heart that a political class comprised of lifetime office seekers are incapable of making the judgment calls that we need them to make. The plain way of saying it: Politicians that worry about re-election, worry about themselves not the country.
I am running because I believe that ordinary citizens should serve and bring real world experience to our government. I am volunteering to serve, to be a citizen servant not for personal gain, but to bring a bit of common sense wisdom to a system that has insulated itself from the realities of working people.
The North Carolina General Assembly has cut programs that will have a negative impact on the most vulnerable people, the young and elderly. They have also enacted legislation that erodes the rights of working people. We need bring a new way of thinking in Raleigh. Allow me be the person who represents you in these changing times.
